Deborah Buchanan, President
Deborah has taught in a wide variety of situations: from science lab to
environmental education,
talented and gifted classes, and English as a Second Language. She is
now concentrating on Asian art history and creative writing. For 3
years she served on the board of Friends of the Library and helped
start their store. With her husband Scott, she has been a student of
Indian Philosophy for 40 years. They have two grown daughters.

Johnny Stallings, Executive Director
Johnny has been an actor, director, teacher and writer for the past 40 years. His solo performances include Shakespeare's King Lear and Hamlet. Johnny has been working in prisons since 2005, and founded Open Hearts Open Minds in July of 2007 to support and expand the work of bringing about positive change in the lives of prison inmates.

Bill Faricy, Secretary
Bill recently retired after 40 years of social service work and nonprofit administration in Oregon, including 20 years as the executive director of a community mental health agency in Washington County. His work focused on counseling, affordable housing and community development. He also served board chair at ROSE CDC and at the Children's Club, Inc. He and his wife, Monica, have raised four children in Portland.

Katie Radditz
Katie Radditz, along with her husband Bill Kloster, owned and managed the Looking Glass Bookstore in downtown Portland from 1973 to 2001. During that time she served on the Board of the Friends of the Multnomah County Library and on the advisory board for Oregon Institute for Literary Arts. More recently she served for five years on the Board of World Steward, an international land-based conservation and education center for sustainable living. Katie teaches Creative Writing at Pacific Northwest College of Art and is Director of Adult Programs at the First Unitarian Church in Portland.
