A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM
Directed by Johnny Stallings
We began rehearsals for Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in March of 2010, at Two Rivers Correctional Institution, near Umatilla, Oregon. Rick Bartow made a beautiful poster for us. The Portland Opera Company lent us costumes.
The rehearsals were tremendous fun! We spent a lot of time laughing. It's a very different play than Hamlet. There are more women's parts. Wacky love mix-ups. Fairies! You have to be brave to play the King of the Fairies in prison.
